Meat Lover's Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

For the Sauce:

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled Italian sausage
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled ground beef

Instructions:

Making the Dough:

  1. Activate the Yeast:

    • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mixing the Dough:

    • Add the olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
    • Gradually add the remaining flour, ½ cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.
  3. Kneading the Dough:

    • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preparing the Sauce:

  1. Combine Ingredients:

    • In a medium saucepan, mix together the tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Cook the Sauce:

    • Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembling the Pizza:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. Roll Out the Dough:

    • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions.
    • Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Add the Sauce and Cheese:

    • Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough.
    • Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
  4. Add the Meat Toppings:

    • Evenly distribute the cooked sausage, bacon, pepperoni, ham, and ground beef over the cheese.
  5. Bake the Pizza:

    • Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (use a pizza peel if you have one).
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve:
